The Connestee Falls Student Scholarship Tournament is part of a large fund raising effort supported by the entire Connestee Falls community.Back in 1987, the first year of the Connestee Falls Student Scholarship Program, the founders had one simple goal: Raise enough money for one college scholarship for one student. They went on to establish the Student Scholarship Program as a not-for-profit organization and set their sights on helping even more students. Just how successful has the program been? Over the last 29 years, it has raised more than $1,000,000, which has assisted more than 525 Transylvania County residents afford their dreams of higher education. Funds are distributed equally among Transylvania County Schools, Brevard College and Blue Ridge Community College. In 2016, each school system received $17,000, which provided scholarships for 22 students.
Starting as an informal open invitational tournament for about 40 entrants in 2011, our tournament now attracts in excess of 130 players at levels from 3.0-5.0 coming from multiple locations in NC & SC as well as GA,TN,FL,VA and MD. In 2017 our tournament contributed over $12,000 to the fund raising effort.
